Solargraf came out of Montreal-based Sofdesk, which Enphase Energy acquired in January 2021 along with its sibling Roofgraf. The design side is the strength: it detects the roof outline, pitch, azimuth and height automatically from Nearmap, Google or Bing imagery, finds obstructions and trees on its own, and builds a LIDAR-based 3D model with split-screen validation against the aerial. Shading runs an hourly simulation at pixel-level precision with heat mapping, and the engine is NREL-, NYSERDA- and CEC-verified, so production estimates are accepted as bankable. Layouts respect automated setbacks and fire pathways for permit-ready output, stringing is automated, and battery sizing spans 50+ manufacturers including Power Control System handling for the NEC 120% rule. Notably it stays hardware-agnostic despite the Enphase ownership. Automated permit packages and CRM integration close the loop. Pricing is not published.
