Bill Wright, an electrical engineer working as an energy conservation consultant, wrote Right-J in 1985 to automate ACCA Manual J by hand; the company formed around it in 1986 and the file format became something close to an industry default. Right-Suite Universal is the flagship: ACCA-approved Manual J load calculation, Manual S equipment selection, Manual D duct sizing and Manual N/ASHRAE commercial loads in one Windows package, with Right-Draw for drag-and-drop room layout and Hotlink technology keeping the parts takeoff and customer proposal current as each phase completes. Hydronic, radiant and geothermal loop design are covered, and Right-CAD adds 3D duct layout. The cloud-side products — Right-J Mobile, Right-Mobile Consultant, Perfect Pitch — put load calculations and equipment selection on a tablet in the customer's living room. List prices are published: $900/year for a Residential or Commercial-Only package, with add-ons from $75 to $500/year. MiTek acquired Wrightsoft in 2019.
